Knysna Animal Welfare Society (KAWS) was first registered as a welfare organisation on 24 September 1951, and celebrates over 75 years of caring for animals in the greater Knysna area.
Our mission is to provide primary health care, to prevent overpopulation of dogs and cats in our community.
Our inspectors will go out and collect reported stray animals.
Providing primary health care to injured or sick animals.
Our inspectors investigate animal cruelty, abuse & neglect.
Our adoptions are carefully placed into loving homes.
Thank you to our partners whose support makes our work possible.
Some animals struggle to cope in a shelter environment or need extended care. Foster homes provide these animals with the comfort, stability, and safety of a real home, even if only temporarily.
